Send Out a Welcome Email As soon as you receive a new subscriber, it is best to send out exclusive content or special offer to them! This is a way of thanking them for their loyalty! 

Design Email to Fit Your Brand Your emails should match your company’s color and logo! Even if you are using a template, be sure to customize it!

Make it Easy to Scan Let’s be honest, your subscribers are not going to read full paragraphs of your email. Break up your content into short and easy paragraphs. Remember: Less is more! 

Consistency Your email marketing campaign is a commitment. It is not the best idea to go a couple months without sending anything to your subscribers. Make time to plan, write, design and send your email. 

Make it Mobile Friendly It’s 2014 – if your email campaign is not optimized for mobile, most likely it is not going to do well. Everything you send out should be mobile friendly!

Make it Shareable You want to have content that people are willing to share, and no we are not talking about the simple forward button! Add in social media links to your emails, so your subscribers can easily share on the platforms they are apart of.

Do a Test Run Before sending an email out to your entire list, do a test run! Send a test version to a test account using each of the big email providers (Yahoo, Gmail, etc.). After sending your test email, it is easier to check any errors or formatting problems that you may come across. 

Proofread, and Proofread Again Even though this may seem obvious, it is extremely important to proofread! Any typos in your email can hurt your creditability with your subscribers.
