So you have a brand that’s targeted towards students? Well, you’ve got the most important and beneficial tip done: simply being present on social media. According to pewinternet.org, 95% of teenagers aged 12-17 are online today. Further, 90% of people aged 18-29 (college aged) currently use social networking sites. This is no surprise being the students of today grew up in the age of technological advancement. Today students of all ages use social media to do any and every thing from finding out the latest gossip/news to showing school spirit to connecting with friends (and strangers). Along with that, social media can be used to attract students and make them aware of your brand/product and what you have to offer them. Here’s a few tips how:

  1. Students LOVE anything free! You would be surprised by how quickly you can grab a student’s attention if you say you are giving something away for free. There are a number of ways you can go about this like hosting a giveaway or offering an incentive for students to do something involved with your brand/product. Be creative, have fun with it, and watch the results in the end.
  2. “Be” a student. Students connect with other students naturally. Why? Because they’re in the same boat. They talk alike, think alike, and act alike so if you do the same, they will be more inclined to give you their time. Stay in the loop with what’s in whether it be as simple as lingo and/or hashtags to something a little more complex such as a trend. Does that make sense #OrNah?
  3. Show them how they’ll personally benefit from your brand/product. Let’s face it: the young adults of the world are selfish. For the most part, students will only care about how you can help them and anything otherwise is forgotten. Presenting your brand/product and simply asking them to “check it out” is not enough. So, convince  them as to why they need what you have to offer. Students will definitely get excited over something new that is going to be beneficial to their lives.

Of course there is plenty more than you can do to attract students to your brand/product, for it is a learning (and ever changing) process as new generations grow up. Following these tips will get you off to a good start and help you find better ways to connect with your target audience and market your brand/product the most efficiently.
