Do you want to take your Instagram marketing strategy to the next level? If so, then you need to be on top of your Instagram performance.
You need to be in the know on what is resonating the most with your audience. What kind of content is getting you followers and engagement?
And what kind of posts are flatlining your growth?
Your Instagram Insights will tell you all of this and more. And we’re going to show you how to access it, interpret it, and use it to better your results.
Today, we’re going to walk you through everything you need to know about Instagram Analytics, also called Instagram Insights.
You’re going to get a real look into LYFE Marketing’s Instagram Insights, and learn what matters in your Insights to see real growth.
How To Access Your Instagram Analytics
So when you log into Instagram and look at your business profile, you should see the Insights button right there in the middle.
This is only visible to you as the owner. The general public will not see the Insights button when looking at your page.
If you tap the hamburger icon up at the top right, you can also access your Insights that way.
What’s Inside Your Instagram Analytics?
So tapping the Insights button from our profile page…
…the first thing we see is that we have the ability to view things at a 7 day or 30 day view. So we’re going to look at 30 days.
When scrolling down this page, at a glance we have Insights Overview, where we can see accounts reached and content interactions.
Instagram says:
“These insights display your account’s reach, content interactions, total follower count and content you share.”
Then we have your Audience tab where we can see the total followers.
And then there’s the Content You Shared, which shows the posts, stories, and IGTV videos.
We currently are not posting Lives or doing in-app promotions, but if you are, those will appear there at the bottom of your Instagram Analytics as well.
So here’s a summary of what each of these metrics means.
Now if you want to see a walkthrough guide for each of these metrics, then we recommend you watch the video at the top of this post.
Some Tips In Using Instagram Analytics
One other quick thing we wanted to show you was, if you ever are just curious about the Insights for a specific post…
…you can just click on that post from your profile, click View Insights, and swipe up to see the Post Insights there.
And if you’re not publishing Reels and IGTVs to your main feed, then here’s what you can do.
You can select one from your Reels feed or IGTV feed, tap the 3 dots, and tap View Insights to view post Insights that way.
Takeaways
Now having shown you everything, we want to quickly list out 2 takeaways on how to apply the Insights you find on your Instagram Analytics.
1. Use the content insights to listen to what your audience is trying to tell you.
If they’re not engaging with it, they’re either not seeing it or not liking it.
And you can tell if they’re not seeing it because you can see the reach for any given post.
So follow the engagement trail and create more of the type of content your audience wants to see from you.
2. Use the account overview breakdowns to learn where your growth is coming from, and invest more into that effort.
Our very first Reel that we made got over 2K views right off the bat. And in just a few short weeks, our Reels are now pushing over 10-12K views.
Reels are a huge driver of our Instagram’s reach, so we’re dedicating time and team efforts to make more of them.
So, likewise, pay attention to what’s driving your growth using your Instagram Analytics. Whether that’s interactive…
…or something else, look into it, and create more of that content.
