Christmas season is upon us, and in case you haven’t yet, it’s time to brainstorm festive Christmas marketing graphic ideas for your business.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
So in this post, we’re going to give you 3 great tips to elevate your business’s Christmas graphics.
And be sure to read till the end because we’re also giving you free Canva templates that you can use for your holiday visuals.
3 Tips For Your Business’s Christmas Graphics
Tip #1: Make a branding theme for Christmas
Christmas is a very special time of the year and it’s important to use colors and visuals that do not just look great…
…but also get your audience excited about the season.
This means that if you have a set social media branding guide for your visuals, you’ll need to adjust your Christmas graphics in 2 possible ways:
- Deviating from or adding colors to your usual branding colors to aim for Christmas tones like this.
- Adjust your Christmas season elements and colors to your branding like this.
Either of these two options has its own strengths.
Using traditional Christmas colors evokes nostalgia…
…and draws emotion from Christmas memories your audience has that may be associated with these colors.
On the other hand, when you keep your branding colors and focus on Christmas elements adjusted to your brand’s colors…
…it gives a festive look for your Christmas graphics but keeps the personality that is associated with your brand’s hues.
Whether you pick one or the other, a bonus tip for this is to adjust your actual logo.
Of course, this wouldn’t be applicable to all business types.
But if you can, add a Santa hat somewhere in there, or you can also change a letter to a Christmas tree or a snowflake.
It’s a nice little touch that when done correctly, can add an extra feeling of Christmas that your audience will appreciate.
Speaking of logo, here’s our tutorial on how to make your business logo with Canva that you can read next.
Tip #2: Deviate from your usual fonts
Whether it be for a sale announcement or a simple greeting graphic, you want to use fonts that fit with the festive tone you’re trying to project.
If you happen to use mostly simple or sans serif fonts for your graphics…
…adding a more decorative type font would make your Christmas graphics extra special.
Tip #3: Use moving graphics and Christmas themed audio
Whether it be for an event, a product feature, or even a simple greeting, take advantage of the fact that digital marketing isn’t limited to having still graphics.
Even simple animated video graphics with Christmas-themed music playing in the background…
…can have a huge impact in setting a festive tone for your posts.
And with the video format, you’re able to put in so much more information and elements into your graphic than with a still video.
Free Christmas-themed Templates
With these three tips in mind, we’ve put together a collection of Christmas-themed templates for you to use for your digital marketing graphics.
You’ll find the templates here and all these templates are available to you to use in your Canva account for your Christmas graphics.
And it’s free!
Simply click on the template link and click on the button “Use template”.
And then, it will automatically create a duplicate of the templates to your Canva account, assuming that you’re already logged in.
Once that’s loaded into your browser, you can go ahead and pick out any of these designs to use.
But be sure to open a new separate canvas and copy the template of your choice there by doing the following steps:
- Select all elements in your template.
- Hit control c going to your new empty canvas’ tab.
- Finally, hit control v.
You’ll need to copy and paste twice, once for all the elements within the page’s design and once for your background.
This way, any animation and audio you add to your Christmas graphics design will only be affecting the actual design you’re using…
…and not the other designs in your original copy of Christmas templates.
Feel free to edit the design to fit your brand and purpose better.
If you want to add transitions to the overall graphic, click on animate and select any of the available pre-set animations.
And if you want to add audio, simply go to the audio tab and use the search bar to look for Christmas-themed audio.
That’s it for today’s Christmas graphics guide!
We hope you learned something or are planning to use any of the templates for your business.
