If you are a service-based business, you can absolutely take advantage of Facebook Marketing.
It doesn’t matter if you’re B2B or B2C.
One way to take advantage is to get your services publicly listed on Facebook, which we’re going to show you how to do in this post.
What Are Facebook Page Services?
Facebook Page Services are services you provide that you can list on your Facebook page.
They allow your Facebook audience to see exactly what you offer, for how much, at what times, and more.
How To Set Up Facebook Page Services
Start by logging into Facebook. Go to your Facebook business page and along the left open up the Meta Business Suite.
Once there, on the left-hand side menu, hit All Tools, then scroll down and hit Services.
If you haven’t created Services for your page yet, then your screen will be empty.
Hit the blue “Add a service” button and start filling out the prompts there.
a. Photo
Add a photo depicting the service and add your service name.
b. Description
The description says optional but we wouldn’t skip it.
Use that space to tell your target audience what benefits they get out of using your service, and then tell them how, by detailing exactly what your service entails.
c. Price
Then set your price. You can choose from Fixed price, Starting At, Variable price, Ask for price, No price, Free or Custom.
If your business model is based around leads calling to get a custom quote, then we would select starting at, variable, or ask for price because you want leads calling in.
If they get ALL their questions answered, then why would they need to call you? And if you close leads by getting on the phone with them, then you don’t want to give away everything.
However, if you do choose a fixed price, starting at, or custom, it’s going to have you enter the dollar amount there.
d. Duration
This is the duration of your service. It can be a fixed duration, for example, 150 minutes. An approximate duration, such as 30 minutes and up.
Or, you can select duration varies.
If you select fixed or approximate duration, then you can also set it to automatically block extra time after an appointment.
So for example, if you cut hair and you want 30 minutes in between your hair coloring clients but only 5 minutes in between your haircut clients…
…you can customize all of that with each service here.
Once you’ve got everything the way you want it, you can hit Add Service.
Now if you don’t have a page yet, here’s a quick tutorial on how to create a new Facebook page for your business.
You’ll see your services appear on the left under Available Services. You can select any of them and hit the blue edit button to change things on them.
One thing we’ll point out is that we set these services up a long time ago, and now it looks like the photo on the service is REQUIRED.
So if we want to make any changes to our service now, it’s not going to let us save it without adding a photo.
You can also hit “Edit order” to edit the order that these services will appear on your page.
So you can put your bread and butter at the top of the list, and maybe drop less popular services down to the bottom.
Now if you want to add a hidden service, you can click over to that tab and follow all the same steps-
-although we don’t know why you’d want to add a hidden service if you’re trying to gain customers,
OTHER than maybe it’s a future service you want to offer, and you want all the details set up and ready to go here once you launch it.
Now, when you go back to your Facebook page, you should see your services you just made under the Services tab.
And for those who want to learn how to use the new Facebook page experience, here’s what you should read next.
We want to wrap up with 2 VERY important things to keep in mind when setting these up.
2 Important Things To Keep In Mind With Your Facebook Page Services
1. The goal of these services is to help move your Facebook audience along and convert them from followers to leads and ultimately customers.
So you want your service titles and descriptions to be as clear and as customer-oriented as possible.
Stay away from jargon or phrases that make sense to you but may not be as straightforward to a new customer!
You work in your industry every day, they don’t. So keep things simple.
And again, keep things customer-oriented. Don’t waste the description space talking about the awards you’ve won or how great you are at performing the service.
Talk about how the service will benefit THEM, and how it will help them reach a goal they have or solve a problem they’re struggling with.
2. You can increase appointments directly from Facebook by setting up these services.
Now depending on how you set up your service settings, you can get leads setting up times to speak with you or to directly book your service, straight from Facebook.
A lot of business owners view social media as a marketing vehicle catered more towards e-commerce.
And don’t get us wrong, there are a lot of tools geared to help you sell products on Facebook and Instagram.
But service-based businesses can get in on that too with tools like the one we covered today, setting up your Facebook Page Services.
